Builder Gel
Builder Gel is a soft gel with a thicker viscosity that creates a strong yet flexible barrier to protect the natural nail. This enables you to grow your natural nails and prevents them from getting weaker and breaking.
There are two types of builder gel that I use, soft and hard builder gel. During treatments I will assess the condition of your natural nails to determine which type would be best.
BIAB comes in a variety of shades that can be left on their own or designs can be applied on top, all finished with a top coat.
Builder Gel can be infilled which prevents having to remove and re-apply the BIAB for every appointment. Builder Gel can also be soaked-off and contains a long lasting formula that can last 4+ weeks.
An infill includes the removal of current designs/top coat and a de-bulk of the BIAB product. A new layer of BIAB will then be applied to fill the gap between the grown out product and the cuticle. A new design may also be applied on top of the new BIAB.
If you wish to have a new BIAB base colour, you will need a removal and re-application
Gel Polish
Gel Polish is a thin, highly pigmented soft gel for easy coverage that cure under UV or LED lamps. It can be used for full colour sets and nail art.
Gel polish is flexible and will bend with your natural nail to a certain point, reducing the risk of chipping and breakages.
If taken care of properly, Gel Polish Manicures can last from 2-4 weeks, and are quick and easy to soak off, ready for a new gel polish colour to be applied. Gels cannot be infilled, they will need to be removed and re-applied at every appointment.
Nail Art
I hand paint all of my nail art designs using gel polish; intricate designs and cartoon work are among the many styles of nail art I practice. Nail art is available on top of all builder gel and gel polish services. Check out our portfolio to see what we’ve been up to recently!
If you are wanting Nail Art during your appointment, please let me know beforehand by putting it in your booking notes or directly messaging me on my social media. Inspiration pictures are also greatly appreciated and can be sent via social media or email.
Aftercare Advice
To ensure your manicure lasts as long as possible, please follow the aftercare below. Following advice improperly or not at all may result in nails chipping or lifting unnecessarily.
- Use cuticle oil as often as possible, this hydrates and nourishes the nail, cuticle and surrounding skin- aiding your manicure to grow out nicely and will prevent your nails lifting.
- Avoid having your nails in water for long periods of time (baths, swimming, washing up etc.)
- Do NOT use your nails as tools, ie: opening cans, peeling off stickers/labels.
- Do NOT pick at or peel your manicure. Peeling gel/BIAB off will peel away the layer of natural nail it has adhered to. It may weaken your nails and make them brittle.
